The Volunteer Team was formed with the objective of assisting Sussex Police in the distribution of security related literature to homes in higher risk areas. Advice is offered on home security and safety to help beat the burglar and to combat the rising level of car crime.

Team members operate in association with Police Officers, Community Support Officers and occasionally with Traffic Wardens. They also target home-coming commuters and late night shoppers who can be victims of the criminal fraternity.
