Neighbourhood Watch Data Link successes in Senlac Division

Towards the end of 2001 a man living in Fairlight, near Hastings, was taken ill and the paramedics called. The gentleman needed to take so many drugs they could not all be entered on the Data Link form, so he put a copy of his prescriptions into the Data Link container. The paramedics saw the green Data Link label on his door and headed for the fridge. Using the information provided, the correct treatment was given immediately. The information was taken with him to hospital and returned on his release and he could not speak highly enough of the paramedics and the Data Link system.

In Hastings recently, an elderly lady's life was saved after being taken ill one night when she was unable to raise her neighbours. She dialled 999 but collapsed after unlocking her front door. The paramedics used the information in her Data Link container to determine her name, next of kin and medical details. She would not have recovered if the information had not been readily available and she was delighted when she awoke in hospital to see her son.
