TRAINING PROJECT
COMPUTER CLASSES: E-MAILS AND INTERNET

Northbrook College is offering a part-time course for Neighbourhood Watch members who would like to learn to send and receive e-mails, use the internet and read web pages.

The cost for six hours tuition is £30 per student and the classes are in either two or three hour sessions. At the end of the course a college completion certificate is given.

An alternative course also includes instruction on creating web pages. The 24 hours of instruction are held in two or three hour sessions, cost £46 per student, and lead to a three module OCR (Oxford, Cambridge, RSA) Computing Certificate.

These courses are offered at Haywards Heath, Littlehampton, Shoreham and Worthing centres.

If you would like to attend any of these classes or would like further information, please contact the Federation Chairman on 01903 762918 or e-mail bc@whitmell.fsbusiness.co.uk

HAVE YOU A GOOD IDEA THAT NEEDS FUNDING?

Did you know that the Sussex Neighbourhoood Watch Federation runs a modest grant funding scheme and is able to give Groups and Associations financial aid to help bring their ideas to fruition? Each year we are given a certain amount of money from the Sussex Police Joint Fund in order that we may help Neighbourhood Watch groups to overcome possible financial obstacles that prevent them getting a good idea 'off the ground'. If you think you might be eligible for a small grant you should contact the Crime Prevention Co-ordinator for your Police Division,or write direct to the Federation at the following address:-

Sussex Neighbourhood Watch Federation
26 Furze Road
High Salvington
Worthing
West Sussex

Prospective applicants must show that the idea has a positive objective to promote the value of Neighbourhood Watch and possibly increase the coverage of the Scheme. In planning a project, clear indications must show that efforts are being made to work with /or liaise with other statutory or voluntary agencies.

It is also important to plan a project that is not later dependent upon further funding from the Sussex Neighbourhood Watch Federation for its future running or revenue costs.

However, in the first instance do not hestitate to give us a call - as the saying goes ' if you don't ask, you don't get!!! '
